Tourism - For & against essay
Tourism, as the largest world's industry, has grown through recent years. Nowadays many people spend their free time by travelling around the world. It can be good to some extent, but tourism have also bad impacts on the visited countries.
To begin with, from the point of view of economy, tourism is generally considered as a main source of income to loads of developing countries. Tourists visiting these countries usually spend foreign currency. This foreign exchange results in increased developments, especially improvements of public services, building of hotels, which may bring more tourists in the future and, therefore, increase the national income. Another valid advantage of tourism is that it is an ideal way of exploring new cultures. By visiting a country people may put into practice foreign language or improve it. Furthermore, by visiting new countries and exploring their cultures, people become more intelligent.
Nevertheless, although tourism is a perfect way of improving economy, it can also cause a tremendous damage to environment. Many tourists throw unsafe rubbish into protected areas, which in most cases lead to forest fires. Such damage results in an increased pollution which can in turn discourage people from visiting the country. Besides, visiting foreign countries may be dangerous, as there are many uncommon diseases. Getting such a disease may result in serious health problems.
All things considered, there are generally known solutions to prevent environment, thus, in spite of the damage, tourism may be a blessing for developing countries.
