How to Create Striped Volumes One way of managing your disks is to use dynamic volumes. To provide the
best performance for accessing large databases, for example, configure a
dynamic disk as a striped volume.
To create a striped volume by using Disk Management:
1. In Computer Management, open Disk Management.
2. Right-click the unallocated space on the dynamic disk on which you want to
create the striped volume, and then click New Volume .
3. In the New Volume Wizard, select Striped , and then follow the instructions
on your screen.
To create a striped volume by using DiskPart:
1. Open Command Prompt, and then type diskpart 2. At the DISKPART prompt, type list disk Make a note of the disk number of the disk on which you want to create a
striped volume.
3. At the DISKPART prompt, type create volume stripe size = n disk = n (where size = n is the size of the disk in megabytes, and disk = n are the
numbers of the disks you are striping).
