“Les Imagistes” included Ezra Pound, Hilda Doolittle, John Gould Fletcher, Amy Lovell, Richard Aldington.
The principles of Imagism were included in the essay “Imagisme” in Poetry (March 1913).
A very precise descriptive mode (not lyrical or intellectual).
Economy of language (short lines, short poems).
An image should communicate a given feeling or emotion.
The aim of an imagist poem was to create a vivid visual image, using as few literary means as possible.
